The Government’s Spending Challenge website has re-opened for 10 days to enable people to vote on the ideas that have already been submitted. (Website is due to close again at the end of August) http://spendingchallenge.hm-treasury.gov.uk/. To vote on the many ideas suggesting scrapping High Speed Rail you will need to do the following:

1. Log in / register.    2. Type “high speed” in the “search ideas” box.     3. Rate ideas. (1 star means bad idea. 5 stars means good idea)

The proposed route of the high speed rail link from London to Birmingham passes through the parish of Ladbroke in Warwickshire (within 200m of the village itself) and neighbouring Radbourn, Hodnell and Will's Pastures.  What's it like? - See this video of the French TGV at a world-record 574.8 km/h (faster than the 400km/h planned for HS2) and this video of comparisons with other forms of transport.

This website is provided by the Ladbroke Action Group and offers information relating to the local impact of the plan (download our objectives and strategies paper). We are keen to cooperate with the many other communities affected by the line (see the Contacts page). For our latest news, see the stories to the right, while coverage in the papers and elsewhere is on the News media page.

To see the how the professional politicians are handling the issues we are publishing their communications on the Politicians page.

We are looking for someone to communicate with the news media on behalf of Ladbroke Action Group (our media person is very busy with a new baby!).  Please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

The maps covering the parish are Map 19 (the southeastern part) and Map 20 (to the northwest). These show the route, the height of the viaduct above ground and other details.
